At noon the oldest soon came home. He was a doctor and gave me some salt and other Cuban medicine. I was reluctant to swallow that stuff but the pain and the doctor's smile persuaded me in the end.
After getting up early I took a local car to get back to the center from where I took a coach to the long awaited city of San Cristobal de Las Casas. I have heard so much about this distant place.
The ferry took me to the island. Sitting next to me there was a local guy with two packs of beer, and he seemed pretty drunk for this hour of the day. He offered me some beer and I was polite.
